Park Hours: Open Seasonally, Thursday-Saturday, 7:30 am – 3:00 pm, weather permitting.
Amenities: South Slope Recreation Area encompasses three reservoirs on the south side of Pikes Peak. Owned by the Colorado Springs Utilities it finally open to public in fall of 2014. While popular primarily with fishermen, it contains two hiking trails that are worth a visit. Enjoy beautiful views of the rarely seen south side of Pikes Peak and pristine reservoirs. Mason and McReynolds are established trails open to the public with 11+ miles of out-and-back single track trails. Lake Moraine Trail, between Barr and Jones Park Trails, is NOT accessible from the South Slope Recreation Area.
NOTE: The area is open by permit only. For more information please visit coloradosprings.gov/southslope. No Pets are allowed in the Recreation Area due to the sensitive ecosystems.
