The Cottonwood Creek Trail is just over 6 miles long. It is a major connector for Northern Colorado Springs! The trail runs east/west along Cottonwood Creek, from just past Frank Castello Park in the east (Powers Blvd) to Pikes Peak Greenway/Front Range Trail in the west (near I-25). The trail surface is smooth concrete. There is one street crossing at Union Blvd, please utilize the crosswalk at Woodland Hills Dr.
This trail is managed by City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services: (719) 385-5940. For more info visit coloradosprings.gov/UrbanTrails.
Connections: Cottonwood Creek Trail links into the Pikes Peak Greenway, just South of Woodmen Rd/Rockrimmon Blvd. There are several neighborhood connections along the trail, providing easy access to Cottonwood Creek Community Park and YMCA! There is a dirt trail alternative between Union Blvd and Rangewood Dr, offering a pleasant 3 mile loop with convenient parking at Cottonwood Park. The trail travels alongside Frank Castello Park. There is a trail spur to Dublin Park, but it requires crossing Dublin Blvd, which currently has no pedestrian crossing.
Future Plans: The plan is for Cottonwood Creek Trail to continue to extend northeast, eventually connecting to the Sand Creek Trail near Black Forest. View COS Park System Master Plan, which includes trail networks.
