1A does not increase taxes. It is an El Paso County Tabor Retention that will provide $2million for El Paso County parks, trails, open space and Nature Centers.  If you use Bear Creek, Fox Run, Fountain Creek, Falcon,  the Pineries, New Santa Fe Trail, Fountain Creek Regional Trail and/or Ute Pass Regional Trail; please vote yes on 1A.

2C extends the Trails, Parks and Open Space Tax for 20 years and increases it from 0.1% to 0.2%. That’s from one penny to two pennies on every $10 purchase made in Colorado Springs. It will cost the average household $1.17 more per month.  If you like to bike or hike in Red Rock Open Space, Blodgett Open Space, Ute Valley Park, Palmer Park, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak Greenway, Cottonwood Creek Trail, Shooks Run Trail or  use any of our city parks, trails and open spaces; please vote yes for 2C.

2C will take care of what we have  AND buy more acres of open space, build more parks and provide more miles of urban and forest trails.

2D does not increase taxes. It is a Colorado Springs Tabor Retention that will provide $20 million to be put into an interest-bearing fund.  5% each year will be used by the COS Fire Department to reduce our risk of wildfires.   If you recall the Waldo Canyon and Black Forest fires you can understand the need for reducing the risk of catastrophic fires.  Voting for 2D will mean that  $1million each year will be spent in our region to manage our forests and keep neighborhoods and adjacent parks and open spaces safer.
