July 13, 9 am
Meet at service road near 1040 S 8th St.
The heavy rains have created some erosion damage as well as incredibly tall weeds. In addition, we have 3 more bridges to add to the Flat Training Area. Please consider giving back to your horse community this month in honor of celebrating our country’s independence. Join us from 9am to 2 pm (or any time in between).
We’ll provide all the tools and water. Just bring a sack lunch and your favorite pair of work gloves. If you don’t have work gloves, we’ll provide those as well. Work available for all ages and abilities. Bring your favorite riding pals and we’ll give your group a special shout-out.
Important change for July 13: Due to the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo activities, please use the 8th Street Service Drive to access the course. From Cimmaron, head south on 8th Street past Lower Gold Camp Road, past Walmart and Motor City Drive. Turn right (west) onto unnamed service road just before the Red Cross building near the top of the hill. Park along the service drive and walk to the work site.
Friends of the Equestrian Skills Course promotes the education of equestrians and other trail users by developing and maintaining a public equestrian skills course. The idea is for riders and horses to learn to navigate obstacles found in wilderness trails in a controlled environment. The course will contain various obstacles for all ages and skill levels of horses and riders.
