Pikes Peak Regional Crew Leader Training


The 2019 Crew Leader Training (CLT) has been scheduled and is open for applications. The 8th annual training will kick off with the initial weekend-long course Friday – Sunday, April 26th – 28th, 2019 at the Starsmore Discovery Center. The goal of the training is to certify and empower our dedicated local trail volunteers with the skills to help us all lead safe and effective volunteer trail and restoration projects at our home parks and open spaces.
 The training is posted and open for all to apply, however, should demand be greater than space allows, priority spots in the training will be granted to applicants already actively involved with a Friends group and/or open space stewardship in general. Application to the training does not guarantee entry into the trainingTraining pre-requisites include previous trail work experience (a minimum of two workdays) and a passed background check that will be administered by the City of Colorado Springs immediately following application at no cost to the applicant. 
Additionally, applicants MUST be able to attend the full 2.5 day weekend training course and commit to completing 2 certification workdays under the supervision of Rocky Mountain Field Institute or Friends of the Peak within the 2019 field season (certification schedule to come at a later date).
