Friends of Ute Valley Park Receive Community Service Award
The Colorado Springs Fire Department presented the David J. Collas Community Service Award to the Friends of Ute Valley Park! The Friends of Ute Valley Park were recognized for their outstanding commitment to community safety through collaborative and cooperative efforts in wildfire risk reduction. The friends group provided outstanding assistance and invaluable partnership during the fire mitigation project in Ute Valley Park. The Friends of Ute Valley Park is a committee of the Trails and Open Space Coalition.
Falcon Dog Park is Open
The new Falcon Dog Park is officially open to the public! The Grand Opening Ceremony will be on Saturday, April 13th at 10:00 am.
2019 Colorado Springs Elections
You should have received your ballot for the Mayoral race and City Council-at-Large seats. The Trails and Open Space Coalition sent questions to the candidates on topics like TOPS, Parks Funding, Bike Lanes and Park Priorities. Not all candidates chose to participate, but all were contacted and provided with the questions. View Questions and Answers.

Public Lands News
Land and Water Conservation
On March 12,2019 one of the most important conservation bills in a decade was signed into law! This legislation permanently reauthorizing the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund that pays for parks, wildlife and recreation projects in all 50 states. The bill creates new wilderness areas across four states, blocks mining in sensitive ecosystems, and protects hunting and fishing opportunities on federal land.

25th Annual Starlight Spectacular

Youth Advisory Council for Panorama Park
Youth advocates wanted! Work with community leaders and design professionals to transform Panorama Park into a truly amazing park for the whole community. Youth will be compensated for their time. Application deadline is March 22.
