Open space visitors can expect to see and hear machinery, such as grinders, chain saws and a track chipper, between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. from Feb. 4 – March 1, weather dependent.
A forest restoration project will be underway for approximately one month in Blodgett Open Space. City Forestry will begin the treatment with the intent to thin the stand of semi-mature Ponderosa pine and dominant Douglas-fir. This aims to create a healthier forest that is irregularly spaced across the landscape.
The project will begin in unit A and move to adjacent northern units as work progresses. Please refer to attached map.
