Shooks Run Trail Clean-up

Join us for a Shooks Run trail clean-up on PikeRide bikes! Meet at the PikeRide office to get supplies, then we will head off to clean up the trail and creek area between Costilla St and Williamette Ave. You will be amazed by the fun we have and the things we found.
Please register so PikeRide can be sure to have enough bikes for everyone.

Parks and Wildlife Annual Holiday Open House

Get to know your local state park during the annual Holiday Open House. Come to Cheyenne Mountain State Park Visitor Center to learn all about the park and the wildlife that call it home in winter. Enjoy hot chocolate and special treats, while the kids visit Santa and create a special craft to take home.
Winter Solstice Astronomy Hike
Fri Dec. 21, 5:30 – 7:30 pm
Garden of the Gods Visitor Center
Celebrate the shortest day of the year by learning about the winter sky on a guided night hike in Garden of the Gods. Dress for cold weather with appropriate hiking boots and bring a flashlight.

Trail Updates
Foothills Trail gets concrete through Rock Ledge Ranch
The Foothills trail through Rock Ledge Ranch is getting updated!
Colorado Springs City Council approved shifting Trails, Parks and Open Space (TOPS) Trails dollars to the Foothills and Gateway Trails in Garden of the Gods for the repairs.
Sand Creek Stormwater Project

The Sand Creek Trail has been extended and now has the first-ever Navigable Drop Structures in Colorado Springs! The City’s Water Resources Engineering Division is introducing Complete Creeks as a way to bring educational and recreational components into the design of stormwater infrastructure projects.
