Work has begun on the Foothills and Gateway Trails in Garden of the Gods Park.  Crews will realign part of the Gateway Trail from 30th Street into the park, providing a more accessible pathway.  A new pedestrian bridge will also be constructed over Camp Creek.  the Foothills Trail, which runs parallel to 30th Street near Rock Ledge Ranch, will be relocated and improved in order to eliminate conflict with the overflow parking lot at Rock Ledge Ranch.  Drainage improvements will be made and damaged concrete replace.
The total cost is approximately $440,000.  $180,000 comes from the Lodgers and Automobile Rental Tax (LART) with the remainder from the Trails, Open Space and Parks (TOPS) trails account.  The work is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
