The Trails and Open Space Coalition is hiring!
The Trails and Open Space Coalition believes our high quality of life in Colorado Springs is directly linked to our system of trails, parks and open space. We focus on connecting and completing trails, preserving open space and parks; and work closely with Friends Groups across the region to ensure public spaces have the necessary volunteer support.
We’re looking for people who complement our committed team of non-profit professionals. We do what we do because we believe trails, parks and open spaces are much more than recreational amenities; they define our community and the people who call it home.
Openings include a full-time Program and Events Coordinator, and a part-time Office Coordinator. See our Careers page at this link.
Update on Seven Bridges Trail
Our friend Hiking Bob confirms that there is trail damage around the first bridge on Seven Bridges Trail: “The bridge itself is fine, but so much silt and scree came down the hill during some recent storms that it filled in under and upstream of the bridge completely blocking it. The creek has re-routed itself around the bridge.” You can cross using stepping stones, or bypass that section of trail. Here’s a link to Bob’s column where he shows how to get around the first bridge.
Raspberry Mountain Member Adventure August 11
Sat, August 11, 8:30 am – 11:30 am
Located west of Monument and south of Palmer Lake, Raspberry Mountain is a broad, wide peak next to Mt. Herman. It suffers an identity crisis, sharing the exact same name of a peak near Divide in Teller County.
This hike is a four-mile round trip. Raspberry Mountain’s elevation and heavy tree cover makes it a nice hike on hot summer days, and the lower portions are ripe for really great wildflower viewing in early summer. Sign up here.
Please volunteer for the Trails and Open Space Coalition at the ADT races!
We could really use your help at our big end-of-summer event: The American Discovery Trail Races.
