Legacy Loop: What’s new?
Take time on these abnormally warm days to walk/cycle the Legacy Loop and watch for the new signs!
TOSC’s Allen Beauchamp, working with partners and COS Parks, led an effort on Saturday, December 9th to install 21 new Legacy Loop marker signs on the Pikes Peak Greenway and Shooks Run Trails. Huge shout out to our COS Parks staff that made it happen!
All of the signs, produced by Springs Fabrication, were cemented in place by 4 crews. Stakes and tape were used to ensure that they cured well.
Sunday morning, Bike Colorado Springs headed out to remove all of the support material (small wooden stakes) and tie a red ribbon on each one for the season.
Partners on the project are the City of Colorado Springs, Bike Colorado Springs (a program of the Trails and Open Space Coalition), Colorado Springs Forward, Colorado Springs Leadership Institute, the Trails and Open Space Coalition, and the Greenway Fund.
More signage will be added in the months to come to help neighbors and visitors navigate our trail system. But this is a great start!
