During the summer months, we go on Adventures with our Members! There’s always something special about these excursions, whether it be a closed or restricted area that we can access with special permission, new trails that you may not have seen before, or little-known “special” spots that may become your favorite.
We restrict these exclusive events to our current members. If you would like to become a member, please go to http://trailsandopenspaces.org/donate. For questions about your membership status, please email eileen@trailsandopenspaces.org or call 719.633.6884.

Join us for a Members-only hike on the South Slope of Pikes Peak. This area is open to the public on a very limited basis, by reservation only. We have permission to take three cars only up to the recreation area for our member hike. Participation is extremely limited. Depending on whether participants have vehicles that can transport more than 5 passengers, we might be able to bring a couple more people, who will be chosen from the wait list.
This is a moderate hike at high altitude. All 7 miles of the hike is above 10,000 feet. Please use your best judgement as to whether or not this is an appropriate hike for you.
We will meet at the Colorado Mountain Brewery on Highway 24 and carpool to the (locked) gate of the South Slope together. Fees we collect for this event will be passed on to the drivers for gas reimbursement.
This is a Members-only event. Please do not sign up if you are not a current TOSC member. If you would like to become a member, please go to http://trailsandopenspaces.org/donate. For questions about your membership status, please email us or call 719.633.6884.

The Friends of Ute Valley Park have exciting new trails to share with our Members–the new East Ridge and Ridge Line Trails are complete and they are beautiful! We’ll meet early to beat the heat and explore the eastern side of the Park.
Friends of Ute Valley Park President Dan Woods will lead the hike with support from Trails and Open Space Coalition staff.
We don’t have a street address for the parking lot, so we’ll send specific directions on the day before the hike.
This is a moderate hike with some uphill segments. The terrain is rocky, so please wear good hiking shoes. It is approximately 3 miles round trip.

Join us for a very special Members-only fall color hike at the peak of aspen viewing season. with photography advice!
Local hiking expert and trails blogger Hiking Bob will take us on some of his favorite fall color trails, and give us tips on how to capture the best images, with phones, point-and-shoot cameras and full photography equipment. Bring your photo gear of choice and your questions!
We’ll meet at Colorado Mountain Brewery on Hwy 24 and carpool to the hike. We’ll be hiking the 704 trail from the Crags, on a lesser-used trail with lots of aspens, which we hope at this time will be in full splendor.
We’ll hike for about 2 hours. This is an easy to moderate, out-and-back, 8-mile hike at higher altitude. If you are used to hiking up and down hills for 8 miles or more, this is a good fit for you. Wear good hiking boots, bring your poles, if you like to use them. Bring a snack, water, sunscreen and rain gear.
The group will often choose to stay after the hike to have a beverage at the Brewery. This is entirely optional.
This is a Members-only event. Please do not sign up if you are not a current TOSC member. If you would like to become a member, please go to http://trailsandopenspaces.org/donate. For questions about your membership status, please email us or call 719.633.6884.
