Feb 20 to March 17, crews with heavy equipment will be working on the Pikes Peak Greenway between the S Tejon and S Nevada St bridges. The City of Colorado Springs will be working on channel bank stabilization to protect bridge supports, in conjunction with CS Utilities work on a utility hole located in the same area. The contractors are aware that this is a high-traffic trail with no convenient detour. The trail will be open during construction.
We advise hikers and walkers to avoid the area if possible; if you must travel the corridor between 7 am and 5 pm weekdays during construction, approach with caution and watch for heavy equipment.
Construction is expected to take about three weeks, until March 17. The trail will be open on weekends and before and after construction hours.
