Bike Colorado Springs–getting people on bikes!
Bike Colorado Springs recently put on three rides in different parts of the city, from the Meadows Park Community Center around the Legacy Loop, from America the Beautiful Park to the Popcycle Bridge, and on the Research Parkway protected bike lane. Read more about the rides, and see more pictures, on our blog.
The goal of these rides was to get people used to getting places by bike, and to explore the places that are accessible to cyclists around neighborhoods. Bike Colorado Springs will be leading monthly exploring rides on the Research Parkway corridor, starting in November.
Bike Colorado Springs is a program of the Trails and Open Space Coalition.

Tree Cutting scheduled for three parks.
If you see lots of pink and orange flagging in Stratton Open Space, Austin Bluffs Open Space or Bear Creek Canyon Park,  City Forestry wants you to know they are designating areas due for forest restoration in early 2017. These projects will be machine and hand work involving cutting and masticating oak brush and trees.
There will be a public meeting (TBA) early next year prior to starting the work.
