Blue Star gives back to TOSC for anniversary, Aug 7-13.

The Blue Star
1645 S Tejon
Sun, August 7 –  Sat, August 13

The Blue Star is celebrating its 21-year anniversary starting on August 7th, which is the date in 1994 that the well-known fine dining restaurant opened. During their anniversary month they want to say thank you by supporting local non-profits.

Throughout the week of August 7 – 13, a portion of all sales will go to support the Trails and Open Space Coalition.

In Memory of William “Bill” Joos.
William “Bill” Joos

Bill Joos passed away suddenly August 1, and his family has chosen the Trails and Open Space Coalition to receive donations in his honor, in lieu of flowers. Bill loved running, and he loved trails, which is why his family decided to honor him by helping TOSC.
We are grateful to Bill’s family for choosing to benefit the Trails and Open Space Coalition, and to those who are donating in his honor.

Upcoming Trail Closures in Bear Creek Watershed.

The Pikes Peak Ranger District of the Pike-San Isabel National Forest will temporarily close several trails in the Bear Creek Watershed over the next few weeks to ensure public safety.
A Forest Service trail building team began constructing the new 667 Trail in August, and will be working through the fall constructing a new multi-use trail as part of the Bear Creek Watershed Restoration Project.

Due to the steep slopes and potential for large rocks rolling downhill, several trails below the new trail construction will be temporarily closed to all public entry.

Closures:
FS Trail 720 (Foresters Cutoff) and FS Trail 668 (Pipeline) mid to late August.
FS Trail 622 (Seven Bridges Trail) September 5 through September 16
More information on the Forest Service website.
