North Cheyenne Cañon Road and Park have opened to the public as of June 28! The roadway paving is completed and looks great.
There will be some minor construction activities along the shoulder happening in the next week that may cause very minor delays, otherwise the road and trails are all back open.

Musical Mondays in Monument Valley Park

ManitouCATS will be installing timber steps and creating water diversion structures to repair a deep gully in a shady forest area near the beginning of the Red Mountain Trail. This is basic mountain trail building in the shade of a pine forest.
Please register if you want to volunteer, so we know how many tools and crew leaders we need.

Join us for a special TOSC Member Adventure with photographer and nature blogger Hiking Bob! We’ll hike the fabulous Paint Mines Interpretive Park, hidden in plain sight just east of the County Fair Grounds in Calhan.
We’ll be up early to take advantage of the best light and coolest hours of the day for our hike, and Bob will give us tips and tricks for great photographs with your phone, point and shoot, or SLR camera.

Manitou Springs The Barr Trail Mountain Race is one of the Front Range’s historic summer mountain running events. The 12.6-mile course begins at the Cog Railway Station (6,570 ft) in Manitou Springs, Colorado, ascends Pikes Peak’s iconic Barr Trail to Barr Camp (10,200 ft) before turning, descending and finishing at the Barr Trailhead. Blue Moon Trail Run Series

All races start and end in Pinon Valley Park and go through Ute Valley Open Space
Run on the challenging and beautiful Dixon Trail, still in progress to the top of Cheyenne Mountain, and closed to the public. The 2016 race distance will be at least 9 miles and will increase each year as the trail is completed.
Suitable for the experienced or beginning hiker, whether new to the Pikes Peak Region of Colorado or a long-time resident, this book is a valuable resource.
Written by veteran hiker, outdoorsman, award-winning photographer, outdoors and open space advocate, newspaper blogger and freelance writer, “Hiking Bob” Falcone, this book provides information on preparing, planning and hitting the trails.
Site of new Legacy Loop Trail Head: east of I-25/railroad tracks at the Fontanero Street terminus, between Recreation Way and the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail
The community is invited to provide input into the design of the new Legacy Loop Trail Head and plaza area, and on access to Fountain Creek, wayfinding styles, the design of the new Gateway at Boulder Crescent and the Rock Island Trail (Cascade Avenue to Templeton Gap).
Opportunities for event staging facilities, themed gathering areas, art/sculpture, lighting, landscape/architecture, visual positioning/wayfinding and historical interpretation will all be explored during the workshop.
The Broadmoor Pikes Peak Cycling Hill Climb/USA Cycling Hill Climb National Championship features USA Cycling sanctioned road races and timed non-competitive fun rides that give cyclists of all abilities a truly unique experience on Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain.
This race, held on Saturday, August 13, attracts the top cyclists and recreational cyclists from across the nation and around the world who dare to challenge Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain!
