We are looking for some fun folks who can volunteer at registration for this year’s Starlight Spectacular June 18th. You’ll help people get through the walk-in registration process and get them tee shirts. Hours are 8:30-10:30, so the shortest gig at the Starlight 🙂

Volunteer Projects for Trails Day
Green Mountain Falls
New trail construction project from 9-2 onJune 4th. Volunteers (16 and over) will get lunch. The trail will connect Belvidere Canyon Trail to Catamount Trail and by the end of this summer, provide a nice loop for hikers. Dixon Trail.
The Dixon Trail will one day summit Cheyenne Mountain and connect to the Top of the Mountain Trail. Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado is leading the project and giving hearty volunteers a chance to camp out and work on the Dixon Trail both June 4th and June 5th. Camping and meals are free. Ute Valley Park
Colorado Springs Parks is partnering with Friends of Ute Valley Park and will celebrate National Trails Day with a morning of trail restoration and rerouting in Ute Valley Park. Meet at Eagleview Middle School at 8 a.m. Volunteers must be 16 years or older. Project concludes atnoon. Register at https://coloradosprings.gov/volunteer.
Palmer Park
RMFI will be teaming up with the City of Colorado Springs and the Guardians of Palmer Park to improve trails in the centrally-located city park that is a popular destination for mountain bikers, hikers, runners, and equestrians. Led by trained RMFI staff and crew leaders, volunteers will complete trail maintenance and restoration projects. This is moderate to strenuous work and requires some heavy lifting. Willow Harvesting–Art meets fire mitigation! June 6-7-8
Volunteers are needed in Green Mountain Falls to harvest willow branches along Fountain Creek that will be used in a community art exhibit by artist Patrick Dougherty and left up for 2 years for the public to enjoy. In addition, this is a great fire mitigation project near the headwaters of Fountain Creek! More info.
