Colorado Springs Parks Staff is updating management plans for some of our Open Space areas. If you live near or use Bluestem or University Park, please attend and offer your observations and ideas for managing these assets.

The City will be developing updated management plans for each of the properties and is encouraging community participation in the planning effort. Join in to learn about and discuss these valuable properties and help guide future efforts to preserve and protect the natural resources that make each of these unique properties special.
Bluestem Prairie Open Space is an important wildlife habitat and a community buffer in southeastern Colorado Springs. University Park Open Space is a popular recreation and trail use area connected to Austin Bluffs Park and Pulpit Rock Park, effectively consolidating 585 acres of natural public open space. Sinton Pond is a 13-acre wetlands and wildlife habitat area that includes the important Sinton/Templeton Gap connecting trail and serves as popular fishing spot.
