Give! is the Colorado Springs Independent’s year-end multimedia and guerilla marketing campaign designed to generate funds, volunteers and applause for the important work local nonprofits perform.
It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we hope we can count on your support. Oh, and there are great rewards, too! The Give! campaign runs Nov 1 to Dec 31. More information.

New buffered bike lane on Arcturus between 8th St and Skyway Blvd.
Yesterday (10/27) the streets department finished striping the new bike lane on Arcturus Drive, just off 8th Street, leading into the Skyway neighborhood. Buffered bike lanes are a newer way to keep bikes and cars separate and safe on the road, and this is one of the first of its kind in Colorado Springs. Thanks to the City for creating forward-thinking bike infrastructure!
Connecting our neighborhoods with biking and walking infrastructure is a great step forward for our community, and we’d like to see more of this–well done!
Your vote matters! Do it for the children…
As of late Tuesday, only 16% of all eligible voters have turned in their ballots. And we’re just one week away!
Please vote yes for 2D and 2C today.
Ballot issue 2D will allow the City of Colorado Springs to retain $2.1 million to spend on eight critical trail projects all over Colorado Springs.
The Trails and Open Space Coalition Board of Directors has also voted to support 2C, the sales tax for road repairs. Several of the projects listed for priority are in our public parks such as Cheyenne Cañon, Garden of the Gods and Palmer Park.
