Waldo Waldo 5K Walk/Run, Oct 17.
Registration is still open for the Waldo Waldo!
Saturday, October 17, 9 am
Supports the Trails and Open Space Coalition
The Waldo Waldo 5K is a locally-run family-friendly 5K walk & “fun run” fundraiser for local nonprofits.
The registration fee comes with a Waldo or Wenda costume kit (characters from the popular “Where’s Waldo?” children’s books) that includes a shirt, hat and glasses! Register now; the price increases the morning of the event.

Ballot issue 2D will allow the City of Colorado Springs to retain $2.1 million to spend on eight critical trail projects. 
 
PLEASE COME GET YARD SIGNS!
Please put a sign in your yard for 2D!. If you would like to help distribute yard signs, or put one in your yard, please contact us to arrange pickup this week or next week.
The Trails and Open Space Coalition Board of Directors has also voted to support 2C, the sales tax for road repairs. Several of the projects listed for priority are in our public parks such as Cheyenne Cañon, Garden of the Gods and Palmer Park.

The Rider and the Wolf is a feature documentary about the life and mysterious disappearance of Mountain Bike Hall of Fame cyclist Mike Rust.

Doors open at 6 pm, film at 7 pm. You can meet up at Old Town Bike Shop and ride over to the theater with the group. Beers at McCabes Irish Pub after the show. Bring your friends and questions for the Rolling Rust Brothers. Tickets on sale now at the CC Worner Desk or here.

Join us Wednesday, October 21, 7:30 AM at Ivywild School, for a conversation with local advocates, including TOSC Executive Director Susan Davies and Andrea Barker with the Greenway fund, and Luis Benitez of the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office, about our trails.

Ute Pass Regional Trail Passes BOCC 4-1

The El Paso County Board of Commissioners endorsed the Ute Pass Regional Trail Master Plan at their monthly meeting October 13. The Board made a few small revisions to the plan approved by the El Paso County Parks Advisory Board the previous week.

Upcoming Fun Events in our local Parks!

Cheyenne Mountain Run
Saturday, October 24, 10 am 
Cheyenne Mtn State Park
Walk or run on the scenic 8-mile or 5K course. 8-mile course gets you on the Dixon Trail, which is not yet open to the public. This is the trail that will eventually go to the top of Cheyenne Mountain, and funds from this event will help fund construction of the trail.
Moonlight hike in the Garden
Sunday, October 25, 6:30 pm

Join us for our annual family-friendly hike.
