Creek Week Kickoff and Cleanup
Saturday Sept 26, 8 am
Fountain Creek Regional Park
This event is open to the public; have fun with TOSC and make a difference!
 
TOSC will join the Creek Week Kickoff at Fountain Creek Regional Park for the cleanup and fun kickoff activities. We will gather at 8 am for sign in, then take a short hike to our cleanup location. We’ll work until about 11:30, then return to the main staging area to take group photos and do prize drawings.We’ll have special swag for our guests!
Get together with friends in the outdoors, and help make your community cleaner and safer. The second Annual Creek Week is Sept 26 – Oct 4.One week’s worth of collaborative cleanup can make a huge difference. Start talking to your friends about forming a Creek Crew today, and get ready for Creek Week.

Public Meeting on the Santa Fe Trail through AFA
El Paso County Parks will host a community meeting to discuss the public use of the New Santa Fe Regional Trail through Air Force Academy property.

The Waldo Waldo 5K is a locally-run family-friendly 5K walk & “fun run” fundraiser for local nonprofits.
The registration fee comes with a Waldo or Wenda costume kit (characters from the popular “Where’s Waldo?” children’s books) that includes a shirt, hat and glasses! Register now; the price increases the morning of the event.

Infestations threaten trees in local parks
 
Thousands of city trees in North Cheyenne Cañon, Bear Creek Canon Park and Blodgett Peak were defoliated this summer. City of Colorado Springs Forestry Dept has a plan to try to save the trees.
