The Pikes Peak Greenway Trail will be closed off and on during the I-25/Cimarron Project. CDOT has assured us that they will try to keep one side of the trail open during closure periods for the other side. Closures and detours will be clearly marked and signed.
Both east and west sides of the trail will be open on Labor Day weekend, Friday, Sept 4, 5 pm through Tuesday, Sept 8, 8 am.

The Midland Trail is currently closed west of the interstate at America the Beautiful Park.
Detour routes will be in place until the new trail configuration opens in summer of 2017. The eventual alignment of the trail will be closer to Fountain Creek.
Midland Trail Detour: Eastbound trail users will take Chestnut Street north to Cucharras Street, continue as it becomes Walnut Street and connects to Colorado Avenue, then take Colorado Avenue east under I-25 to the Greenway Trail or continue on Colorado Avenue to Cimino Drive to access America the Beautiful Park and connect back to the Midland Trail.

The connection of the Bear Creek Trail with the Pikes Peak Greenway is currently closed and detoured onto 8th Street at the Walmart. The detour is necessary so crews can extend the pedestrian/bicycle underpass for the Bear Creek Trail to accommodate the widening and reconfiguration of I-25. This temporary detour will be in place for about three months.
Bear Creek Trail Detour:
Eastbound Bear Creek Trail users will turn north on 8th Street and cross Cimarron, immediately access the Midland Trail to South Chestnut Street north to West Cucharras Street, continue as it becomes South Walnut Street and connects to Colorado Avenue, under I-25. Users can re-enter the trail system at America the Beautiful Park by turning south on Cimino Drive.
Westbound Trail Users will follow the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail north along the east side of Fountain Creek to America the Beautiful Park and connect to Colorado Avenue, turn west on Colorado Avenue, turn south on South Walnut Street to West Cucharras, turn south on South Chestnut Street to access the Midland Trail. At 8th Street, turn south and cross Cimarron. Continue on south on 8th Street to connect with the Bear Creek Trail.
