People throwing trash and cutting switchbacks are damaging the Incline and Barr Trail.
Incline Friends, with assistance from the Trails and Open Space Coalition and the Friends of Ruxton Canyon, are starting an Incline Ambassador program to help educate people to pack out trash and stay on the trails. Volunteers can sign up for 2-hour shifts most weekends in August (not the 15th-16th, the weekend of the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon). Incline Friends will provide literature and suggestions on how to engage the public without confrontation.
Incline Ambassador volunteers will get Merchant Discount cards to great Manitou Springs establishments as a thank you.
