New bike lanes on Austin Bluffs called “Death Trap.”
New bikes lanes installed on Austin Bluffs Boulevard near UCCS are drawing criticism and anger from cyclists.

Bike lanes cross several lanes of traffic on the busy street, hug a concrete barrier, and offer little protection to cyclists.
We continue to be concerned that cyclists cannot get around our city without being subject to considerable danger and inconvenience.

Vote YES for Trails!

The Colorado Springs City Council has voted to put a TABOR refund question on the November 2015 ballot that would mean 2 million dollars for critical trail projects.
This will not begin to address the long list of maintenance needs and capital projects outlined in the recent master plan ($180M). But if passed it will repair key transportation trails like the Greenway, Rock Island, Shooks Run, Sinton and Sand Creek trails.

More info and project list.

NEWS OF NOTE
Midland Trail closure postponed.
Permanent closure of the underpass connecting the Midland Trail to ATB Park has been delayed, but only a few weeks. Detour and more info at this link.
Colorado Springs is the only Colorado city with a 30 word limit for a ballot question.

We propose increasing the limit to 100 to better explain future ballot measures.
