Exciting News for the Legacy Loop

Colorado Springs is getting much closer to completing our 100 year plus vision of a park and trail ring around our City Center with a $1 million grant from Great Outdoors Colorado!
The Legacy Loop will undergo a series of projects on the north and west end of the proposed ten mile loop to create significant connections from the Rock Island Trail to the Pikes Peak Greenway on the north end of Monument Valley Park. The Greenway Fund is very excited for the improved trail connections and enhancements for trail heads and underpasses that will bring greater access to our Monument Creek waterway!
“The existing trail corridor already sees 1,000 users per day, but trail gaps mean users have to navigate abrupt dead ends and street traffic. GOCO funding will fill these gaps with 2.3 miles of new trails and the addition of underpasses, pedestrian bridges, and other safe trail crossings.”
