FLOOD NEWS–EMERGENCY FUNDS, CLOSURES, & A PROJECT
Colorado Springs City Council approved $5M in emergency funding to start work on flood repairs to parks and public works. $1M of that was for parks. We are grateful for the quick action by the City to get work started while waiting for disaster relief funds.

Red Rock Canyon OS remains closed.

Be alert for hazards on the trails!
Closures:
  • Red Rock Canyon Open Space, including Section 16 trailhead
  • Pikes Peak Greenway–south of Nevada to El Pomar.
  • Midland Trail near 25th St.
  • Foothills Trail near Glen Eyrie
  • Fountain Creek Regional Trail–three closures
  • Ute Pass Regional Trail (portion)
  • Rainbow Falls

EMERGENCY FLOOD PROJECT–
ROCK ISLAND TRAIL
 

Volunteers are urgently needed Thurs, May 28to help El Paso County Parks fill and place sand bags on the Rock Island Trail. The job involves some lifting, bending and shoveling.

Meet at 10 am at EPC Public Service building, 3255 Akers Drive. Call Adam Baker for more information and to sign up, 719-495-0765.
