Give! is the Colorado Springs Independent’s year-end multimedia and guerilla marketing campaign designed to generate funds, volunteers and applause for the important work local nonprofits perform. Give! is a way to find out about local nonprofits, and support them at affordable levels, all the while having fun at a multitude of events and enjoying the rewards offered by Give! sponsors for donating.

Nov 10-22 Give Gear! with Mountain Equipment Recyclers
Any time during the two Giving Gear weeks, donate your gently-used gear on behalf of TOSC and be entered to win great prizes:
– Convert 2 tent from Sierra Designs (a $550 value!)
– 2 Kelty Backpacks
– 2 Camelbak packs
– 3 sleeping pads from Klymit
– Framed photography from local artist David Smith
– A 10 punch pass from City Rock.
– A free massage from Unlimited Bodywork.- Socks from Fox River
– Water bottles from Atlas Snowshoes.
– Our shirts and hats.
– Various maps, and more.
Weekend events for Give Gear include:
Friday, Nov 21, 7 pm “A Thousand Takeouts,” multi-media presentation on rafting the Grand Canyon. Get a front-row seat for a trip on the mighty Colorado River! Free; gently-used gear donations gratefully accepted.
Saturday, No 22, 10 am to 6 pm. Mountain Equipment Recycler’s Winter Sale–free lunch for the first 100 guests, live music, prizes and giveaways, discounts on store inventory! A portion of the day’s sales will be donated to TOSC.
Dec 5th, 6:30 pm, Full Moon Hike, Garden of the Gods (free)
Join TOSC, Friends of Garden of the Gods and the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center for a magical 2-mile hike under the full moon in the Garden. This is a free event; donations gladly accepted through the Indy Give! campaign the night of the event. Dress warmly! Please wear hiking shoes and dress in layers; bring flashlights or headlamps. This event is suitable for children over 8. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served after the hike. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome on the hike.
Dec 21st, 3-7 pm. Holiday Happy Hour at Bristol Brewing.
Start the holiday off with a relaxing happy hour at Bristol! Taste the special Black Lager–for each pint sold, Bristol will donate $2 to the IndyGive! nonprofit of your choice. No announcements, drawings, or hubbub, just beer with friends on the Sunday before Christmas.
