Friends of Monument Valley Park Fundraiser.
Dinner and show at Navajo Hogan Aug 6.
Join Friends of Monument Valley Park for a musical evening featuring “The Bad Boys of Country Music,” at Johnny’s Navajo Hogan on Wednesday, August 6. All proceeds from the show, and 20% of food and drinks purchases will go to the Friends. Doors open at 5:30 pm, so come for dinner, stay for the show at 7 pm!

August 14th gives you two opportunities to voice your opinions about the future of open spaces in our area. First up, TOSC will host a meeting to talk about the Ute Valley Park Master Plan, which is being updated to include plans for the new HP property addition. Listening Tour meeting August 14 in Colorado Springs.
If your interests lie with open spaces across the state, here is another opportunity to voice your opinions. GOCO (Great Outdoors Colorado) invests a portion of Colorado Lottery proceeds to help preserve and enhance parks, trails, wildlife, rivers and open spaces all over the state. GOCO will host a public forum in Colorado Springs on August 14, and you are invited to be part of the process to help set GOCO’s priorities for the next five years.

Call for Volunteers
Help needed for ADT Marathon, Labor Day weekend
Trails and Open Space Coalition partners with the Pikes Peak Road Runners for the ADT Marathon(which includes a half-marathon, relay marathon, and kids’ “fun run” as well). We need 250 volunteers to help coordinate the race.
* Saturday August 30 – Packet Stuffing, Antlers Hilton from 1 to 3.
* Sunday August 31 – Race Registration and Packet Pickup, Expo at the Antlers Hilton, 11 am to 5 pm. Loading and unloading gear at America the Beautiful Park most of the day.
* Monday September 1 – Race day–lots of opportunities, something for everyone.

Sunday, August 10, 2014 Mount Herman Road Trash Pickup
In memory of Devin J Seifert. Devin’s family and friends want to invite the
community to join them Sunday August 10th to honor Devin and help pick up the trash on Mount Herman Road. Meet at 9am at Dirty Woman Park. This effort is partnered with the US Forest Service, Friends of Monument Preserve, and many local businesses donating food, materials, dumpsters, and help.
