Middle and High School student volunteers will work from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm building small check dams to slow the flow of storm water and trap sediment. Activities will include excavating small keyways, lining with erosion control matting, filling with rocks, covering with soil and seeding. Volunteers should dress appropriately for strenuous activity and bring a water bottle, sack lunch and gloves.

Duties will include setting up and taking down booths, assisting with the Kids Zone and performing clean-up throughout the day.

This trail has been badly damaged due to previous storm water flow off of the Pikes Peak Highway, and is in need of re-established tread and out flow to ensure water does not accumulate on the trail.
