GETTING STARTED
You just had an idea for building a trail to enable you to ride your bike to work, or, perhaps, you wonder if that beautiful vista look at everyday will some day disappear. You don't want to see that but don't know what to do.

WHO DO I TALK TO?
You can talk to staffs of your community or your elected officials to start. If they don't have the answers, they should be able to steer you to someone else. There may be volunteer groups or nonprofits that work in that area as wel.

WHAT'S PLANNED FOR YOUR COMMUNITY?
One way to find out about proposed trails or what might happen to that vacant piece of land is to go to your community's master plans. Many communities have trails, bicycle and open space master plans that will give you the scoop. Check out their websites. It may be unde parks, planning or even public works.
