Volunteers still needed at Corral Bluffs

Corral-Bluffs-clean-upAmazing what nearly a century of unregulated dumping can create!

Phyllis and Jeff Cahill are the main motivating force that has greatly improved the look of this old farm dump site.
They continue to lead volunteers each Sunday, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. in the clean up effort.  The farm dump is adjacent to Corral Bluffs.
To date they've recycled 6 tons of metal, 2 1/2 tons of wood, 1 ton of tires, 3 tons of concrete and numerous large boxes of glass and plastic. Volunteers have taken home rusted pieces of wood stoves and car parts to use as unique garden ornaments. Recently they found the side of an old theater seat that might have come from the old Burns (and later the Chief) Theatre in downtown Colorado Springs! Clean-up efforts will continue through April.
