Teller County
June 4- 9th annual "Great
Divide Kite Flight". This year Teller County Parks will again
be hosting National Trails Day events at the Divide Park. Also
includes relay on trail along Hwy. 24. It
was very cold and windy west of Woodland Park as a brave contingent
ran, walked, biked, rode their horses and burros and even skied
on the trail in a relay benefiting T.H.E. Coalition. TOSC Executive
Director Dan Cleveland started his morning out at this event and
then zoomed to the Paint Mines south of Calhan for the opening
of the Paint MInes. What a Saturday TOSC had with Linda at Red
Rock Canyon.
El Paso County
June 4 - It was freezing
and windy at the Paint Mines on Saturday but a huge crowd braved
the weather and showed up for the dedication. County Commissioner
Jim Bensberg MC's the event along with commissioners Sallie Clark
and Dennis Hisey. New trailheads and trails have been built for
the public to use. There is a bathroom at the north trailhead.
Please stay on the designated trails and don't stray into the
formations.
Colorado Springs
June 4 - Linda Hodges,
TOSC Assistant Director, met with a gang from REI to help build
trails in Red Rock Canyon. And yes, it was cold and windy there
as well. Thanks for everyone who participated in helping build
trails Saturday!
June 4-5 - Cheyenne Mountain State
Park. Volunteers
for Outdoor Colorado will build a new trail in the park.
