Our bylaws limit our membership to 200 members. Our membership process is designed to allow new people to ride with us, even before joining our club.
There are two ways to start. 1.) You can ride twice, as a guest of a member, to get a feel for our trail rides and then become a Waiting Member by sending in the Application Form with a $6.00 Waiting Member Fee or 2.) You can become a Waiting Member immediately, by sending in the Application Form and $6.00, without riding as a guest.
Either way, once you have become a Waiting Member, all rides are available to you at a cost of $1.00 per ride. You will receive our monthly newsletter, which informs you of all club activities and all rides. After you, as a Waiting Member, have ridden one time with us, you are eligible to become a Regular Member, if there is an opening. The Board of Directors will consider you for Regular Membership at the next meeting after your ride and, if there is an opening and members who were on that ride agree, a Regular Membership will be extended to you. The criterion for this vote is determined by horsemanship, control and safety. If no opening is available, you can enjoy all of our trail rides, at a cost of $1.00 per ride, until an opening becomes available.
Please fill out a Cavalier Trail Riding Club Application Form (link to form). You can check the Waiting Member Fee line at the top, send it in with $6.00, which will later be subtracted from the regular membership fee, (the address is on the back of the application form). If you would like to try a ride first let me know, (I would be happy to be a sponsor for you), or contact some other Cavalier Member and come ride with us as a guest. Either way, we would love to ride with you and meet both you and your horse.
