The Cavalier Trail Riding Club, (CTRC), was formerly the Cavalier Riding Club of Fort Carson and was organized at Fort Carson in the late 1950's with a small group of military riders and their dependents.

It continued to grow and was approved and ratified by the Colorado Secretary of State as the Cavalier Trail Riding Club, Inc. in 1979.

The Club maintains membership in the Colorado Horsemen's Council, the El Paso County Horsemen's Council, the Trails and Open Space Coalition, the Rocky Mountain Backcountry Horsemen, and other horse advocacy groups. Individual membership in these organizations is encouraged.

CTRC members host trail rides in scenic areas of Colorado Springs and El Paso County including Bear Creek Park Garden of the Gods, Palmer Park, the Santa Fe Trail and Fountain Creek Trail. Trail rides are also held in areas throughout the state such as Mueller State Park, Pueblo West, Woodland Park/Teller County, Buena Vista and sections of the Colorado Trail
