45 Parks Adopted for trash pick-up!

With trash cans gone in most neighborhood parks due to budget cuts, an amazing number of volunteers are coming forward offering to help. Local resident Steve Immel is doing a great job getting neighbors to pitch in and contribute a little time and "elbow grease." He has set up a website - "Proud of our Parks" to give potential volunteers a way to donate their time and energy. Immel hopes the idea catches on and all of Colorado Springs' neighborhood parks can be adopted.  He's working with local haulers, school districts and even hardware stores to secure garbage bags and hauling services for interested volunteers.
Be sure to check out Steve's website at:  www.proudofourparks.org
